As Design Lead at Allianz, I led a cross-functional initiative that brought together product, engineering, and business teams to transform a legacy, desktop-first motor insurance quoting platform into a modern, mobile-first experience.
Strategic challenge
Allianz needed to modernise its motor quote journey by creating a seamless, multi-channel experience that reduced friction and strengthened customer trust in a highly competitive, regulated market.
Approach and leadership
I defined and championed a user-first vision aligned with Allianz’s KPIs, including engagement, activation, and conversion.
I established scalable design patterns and mentored junior designers to apply consistent UI and UX approaches across desktop and mobile.
Working closely with product and engineering leadership, I prioritised features, streamlined workflows, and ensured compliance and security were embedded throughout the journey.
I also directed usability testing and iterative improvements, using insights and data to guide decisions.
Results and business impact
We launched a mobile-first quoting experience with progressive, auto-building steps that shifted Allianz’s digital approach from desktop-centric to mobile-optimised.
Within six months, active monthly users increased by 21%.
We also exceeded the conversion uplift target of 25%, delivering a 38% increase in the first six months.
